#TeaAt3WithMamFromage
A few words from Mam Fromage:
#TeaAt3WithMamFromage ...……"was something I set up as a direct response to Covid19 and the lockdown of the University in March of 2020. Initially an attempt to cheer up my film students, most of whom were literally about to go into production after several months of prep, and try and keep them engaged in the weird landscape we found ourselves. I called on Industry friends I had worked with or knew, all of whom responded amazingly and kep linking me with more and more wonderful people.
At the same time, the audience kept growing until I had students tuning in from over 15x Film Schools all over the UK. St this point NAHEMI (The National Association for Higher Education in the Moving Image) offered to support me because so many of their students were benefitting from the chats.
The aim was informal, fun and very honest conversations about the realities of working in the Film and Television Industry over a cuppa mid-afternoon. Intended to be 30 mins only, several sessions lasted longer, the guests and the students having too nice a time to leave! I wanted to speak to people from as many different roles as possible, one of the nicest comments was from a student who said ‘after every talk I want to do what they were talking about because they obviously love it so much’.
I have continued sporadically and will keep doing occasional ones but the vast majority of the talks have been uploaded on to YouTube where anyone can watch them https://www.youtube.com/user/FreyaBill They are fascinating, open and invaluable to any student thinking of going in that direction. The generosity and openness of all the guests never ceased to amaze me and I want to THANK EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM"
